The battle for the NBA MVP award has been a popular topic throughout the season, with Nikola Jokić of the Denver Nuggets, Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers, and Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks as the top contenders. The most passionate debates, however, have centered around Jokić and Embiid. Jokić's case is particularly compelling as he aims for his third consecutive MVP title, with the center coming close to achieving a triple-double average, a feat previously only accomplished by two guards: Oscar Robertson and Russell Westbrook, who did it four times. Furthermore, with a record of 52-26, the Nuggets are nearly guaranteed the top seed in the Western Conference.
In the ongoing NBA season, the race for the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award has been highly debated. The top three contenders for the award are Denver Nuggets' Nikola Jokić, Philadelphia 76ers' Joel Embiid, and Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo. The focus of the debates has primarily been on Jokić and Embiid, with the former making a strong case for his third consecutive MVP award by almost averaging a triple-double, a feat that only two guards, Oscar Robertson and Russell Westbrook, have accomplished. Embiid, on the other hand, is expected to win his second consecutive scoring title and has led the 51-27 Sixers to a likely third seed in the Eastern Conference. Stephen Curry, a two-time MVP and the only player to win the award unanimously, stated that his vote would go to Embiid, who took a massive leap this season and turned heads, leading the Sixers to an impressive position. While Jokić is averaging 24.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 9.9 assists, Embiid's stats are equally impressive, with 33.0 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game.
The Future of Kyrie Irving with the Dallas Mavericks
Despite the Dallas Mavericks' recent struggles since acquiring Kyrie Irving, sources told Bleacher Report that the team's plan is still to re-sign the star guard. Irving is eligible for an extension, but he has reportedly decided to let his future be determined in free agency this summer. Despite Dallas' 9-16 record since the blockbuster trade, sources indicated that the team does not attribute the shortcomings solely to Irving.

The Dallas Mavericks are focused on improving their defense by adding versatile wing defenders and rim protectors in the offseason, according to sources. The goal is to strengthen the team's overall performance, particularly alongside Luka Dončić and hopefully Kyrie Irving, who will enter free agency this summer. The Mavericks are currently outside the play-in field and are unlikely to qualify for the postseason with only three games left in their schedule. They are trailing the Oklahoma City Thunder by one game for the final play-in spot, and the Thunder hold the tie-breaker advantage.

"Will Zion make a comeback before regular season ends?"
"New Orleans Pelicans' Zion Williamson who has been out due to a hamstring injury, is set for a re-evaluation this week to determine if he can make a return before the regular season concludes. The Pelicans remain optimistic that Williamson may be able to play a few games before the playoffs begin. Since January 2, Williamson has not featured in a single game.
With just four games left in their schedule, the Pelicans are currently at the eighth position in the Western Conference, and there is a possibility that they can climb up to the top six and secure a playoff spot."

According to sources from Bleacher Report, Jared Dudley, who is currently an assistant coach for the Dallas Mavericks, will be leading the team as the head coach for the upcoming summer league this offseason. Dudley, who is 37 years old and retired from his 14-year NBA career, has been serving as an assistant coach for the Mavericks for two seasons now. Sources also revealed that Dudley was expected to become a top assistant coach for Kenny Atkinson before Atkinson withdrew from the head coach position at Charlotte Hornets during the offseason. Dudley aims to continue building his credentials and ultimately secure a head coaching job in the NBA in the future.
